Famous Stars
Betelgeuse

I chose famous stars to research next because I am very interested in learning about the stars I’ve seen every night, but never knew anything about.
Betelgeuse (pronounced: Beetle-juice) is a bright red super giant. It is also known as Alpha-Orionis, and is easy to see in the Orion constellation since it is one of the largest and most luminous in the night sky. It’s name comes from the Arabic name, ‘Ibt al-Juaza’ meaning “Hand of Orion.” One day Betelgeuse with become a supernova. It is one of the three stars that make up the Winter Triangle.
