Capella

Famous Stars
Capella

I chose famous stars to research next because I am very interested in learning about the stars I’ve seen every night, but never knew anything about.
Capella is the brightest star in the constellation Auriga, the sixth brightest in the night sky and the third brightest in the northern celestial hemisphere. The name comes from the Latin word “capra” which means ‘Goat’ + ella = ‘Little goat.’ Though to the naked eye it appears as a single star, it is actually a star system.
